Her final dock...

Launched in 1938, the SS William A. Irvin is a classic lake freighter that sailed the Great Lakes for US Steel. Despite carrying iron and coal for 40 years through treacherous storms, she is in pristine condition today. Her final dock is in the heart of the Duluth waterfront near the majestic Aerial Lift Bridge. She sits there today, a floating museum on the National Register of Historic Places, overlooking the activity in the friendly Lake Superior harbor.
